Arvind Kejriwal was born on 16 August in the year 1968 and is from Haryana. His father, an electrical engineer, had a transferable job due to which Arvind and his three siblings had to change schools often. After he became an engineering graduate IIT, Kharagpur, he was employed for a short period in Tata Steel.
He resigned to prepare for the Civil Services which he cleared and joined the Indian Revenue Services as Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Dept. He discontinued to pursue higher education and then became a key member of the team that began its fight for the Lokpal Bill in 2012 along with Social activist Anna Hazare.
This man is belonging to middle class family of India and spent his initial stage of life in Hisar. After finishing his educationn, he worked in govgt sector and later married with Sunita Kejriwal. Arvind and Sunita are blessed with 2 children.
Social Activist and Politics:
His role of a politician began as a sequel to his previous role of a social activist. On leaving Team Anna after a difference of opinion with Anna, he floated the political party Aam Admi which means “Common Man’. He was elected Chief Minister of Delhi, after his party , the Aam Admi Party, won the elections with him as the leader.
After the dissolution of the Delhi State assembly, he is now standing for the General Parliamentary elections in 2014 and is opposed to Narendra Modi in his constituency Varanasi.
